Chapel Hill Fashion: Carolina Blue

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I’m currently traveling to Tennessee with Gareth for a weekend trip for his birthday! Happy Birthday, Gareth! We are going to a hot air balloon festival later today and then doing a little bit of exploring Sunday. We decided to stay an extra night into Monday to watch the solar eclipse somewhere in Tennessee too! It’s going to be a fun weekend! Be sure to look out for the vlog and blog post on that trip in the future 😊

As I mentioned in the previous travel blog, we had a little photoshoot on this gorgeous road in Chapel Hill called Gimghoul Road. I utilized somebody’s beautifully landscaped yard as a gorgeous green back drop, 😛 Being in Chapel Hill, I thought wearing light blue and white would be fitting (Go Tar Heels!). Though the skirt isn’t quite Carolina blue, it still gives that Tar Heel feel paired with the white crop top. When I first saw the skirt at Forever 21, I knew I had to have it. I knew it would be great for any Summer or Spring outfit. The floral perforated design and scalloped edges immediately stole my heart. I’m a sucker for anything floral so having a unique design that resembles flowers is right up my alley. I just love the touch that the design with the scalloped edges give. The skirt is a faux suede material, but it’s not too heavy, so it wasn’t uncomfortable to wear, even in the 97 degree weather that day. With the skirt being high-waisted, pairing it with anything crop top is the way to go. I also found this off the shoulder crop top from Forever 21. As we all know, off the shoulder tops are really in right now and I’m digging the trend. I thought pairing the outfit with some white ankle strap heels would complete the outfit. I added the floppy hat to really pull the whole outfit together. I’m also slightly obsessed with big floppy hats. I have about five of six of them. No shame. With the blue color running through the ribbon, I think it pulls the whole outfit together and adds a nice touch without being overpowering. I love how bright and cheerful the outfit is without really having much color or anything too bright.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! This is my last weekend before I take my last college class ever. I’m going to make the best of it and try not to dread going back to school Tuesday!

Much love,
